Dear Friends,

For the past decade, WAND has been providing world class online business directories to precisely connect buyers and sellers on the Internet.  These directories are powered by WAND’s premier Product and Service Taxonomy, which has been licensed for use in third party applications as well.  As we begin our second decade of existence, The WAND Business Directory Network is stronger than ever; in fact, we have recently expanded its coverage with new directories in Punjab, India and in Japan.

While the directory part of WAND’s business will continue to grow and be strong, WAND is putting a new emphasis on building the most expansive and comprehensive taxonomies in their categories. This complete website redesign marks the beginning of this new era for WAND – we are no longer just a business directory company.

To immediately demonstrate our new focus on taxonomy, we are proud to introduce the brand new WAND Local Search Taxonomy. This new vocabulary is revolutionary in the richness of business to consumer and e-commerce terminology that it encompasses.  We have gone far beyond our base set of product and service categories to include nearly every search term and keyword that a user might look for in a local search environment. We are providing a vocabulary that will help eliminate all failed or “no results” searches in local search and to improve the accuracy and relevance of local search results overall; we plan to continue to expand the taxonomy to ensure it always meets this standard. The WAND Local Search Taxonomy is an important part of continuing to achieve our long time company mission to efficiently connect buyers and sellers.
